TOP 10 QUESTIONS FACING TIGERS!

After a nice trip to Florida, The Big D is back and raring to go. Even though my Superbowl pick was probably an obvious one, it was right on the money and it was a very enjoyable game despite the depression of having to watch it at a bar only 2 hours west of Miami. That’s fine and dandy but considering the fact that the cheapest Superbowl ticket was going for $1000, I’d say I made the right choice, don’t you? Anyway, I’m back in the saddle again and ready to now talk about a sport that we last said goodbye to in the fall of 2006 but it’s what I’ve truly been waiting for – THE MLB. Of course, for us, that means the Tigers and success is actually expected this time around. Pitchers and catchers have already reported or will report by the end of this week so I thought I’d get an early start on what we can expect from our boys from Motown this season. On that note, here are The Big D’s top 10 questions that the Detroit Tigers are facing going into the 2007 season…

10. IS IT TIME FOR MAYBIN?
Get used to hearing the name - Cameron Maybin! The former 2005 first round draft pick is listed as a CAN’T MISS, FIVE TOOL OUTFIELDER and is the future of the Detroit Tigers. They say he is all but a lock to be the next great Tiger and to eventually challenge Curtis Granderson for the centerfield position. One of them will end up in left and the other in center but either way, everyone is waiting for this kid. They say all he needs is seasoning but they say he is a future 3rd or 4th hitter in the lineup and probably a future All-Star for Detroit. Even Detroit sportswriter, Terry Foster claimed on Sunday Night that if Maybin doesn’t make the team this season (which he might), it won’t be long and his time is definitely coming. Like it or not AL CENTRAL…CAMERON MAYBIN IS COMING!!!
