Briefly on the Boston Red Sox and their unbelievable boycott attempt of last week’s spring training game with the Toronto Blue Jays and in the bigger picture their threatened boycott of their Japanese trip…For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t want to go to Japan so close to the MLB season opener in the USA and have to play baseball. I have to admit, that would clearly suck ass. The problem I have is this…Have any of you Red Sox players looked at your bank statements lately? Do you not see how much moolah you have in your accounts? How do you think that compares to the common man? If your biggest worry is to take a trip overseas to play baseball when you make 10 million dollars then I must say you’re living one hell of a good life aren’t you? And what were you all hoping for as payment for the trip? What was it…$40,000 more per player? So what part of your ridiculous contract totals couldn’t be forked out to go on this trip? Oh I forgot it costs 42,000 to feed your families nowadays at one sitting. Yup, those Lucky Charms really range in price nowadays don’t they? It’s not like the team wouldn’t pick it up anyway. This is an act similar to playing Bantam baseball, getting on a bus with your teammates knowing a long trip is ahead, and worrying about your financial losses, except in Bantam baseball I never made 10 million smackaroonies. I made 5 cents and I enjoyed every cent of that money. Why? Simple…I played for love of the game.
When someone makes millions upon millions of dollars they have no right to ask for more no matter what the situation is as far as I am concerned. Is it fair that the BoSox have to make that trip in the first place? No. But they make so much money anyway why can’t you all just suck it up for a change and act like professionals that actually love the game and not the size of your wallets? Stop complaining like little bitches and just go. I’ll say it again, JUST SHUT UP AND GO!!! All that matters is buying their 4th summer home. Well good luck overseas, gentlemen. I hope you eat that really tasty $40,000 minute rice while you’re there. This is just another example of how greed has taken over the sporting world and the Boston Red Sox are now no exception. Nice boycott threat guys! As if anyone really gives a dam. Too bad fans in Japan are even showing up. After all this BoSox bickering, the only thing that would make all of this worth it for me is to see them arrive in Japan and be forced to play in front of an empty stadium. Now that truly would be worth $40,000! HA, HA, HA!
